Assignment to the LE laboratory

Note: We do not accept research students to prepare for entrance examination.

The Master and Doctoral Degree Program of IMIS and Ph.D program in Humanics have been accepted for “Special program for priority placement of government-sponsored international students by MEXT”. Our lab are willing to accept talented international student who submits for MEXT scholarship from Europe and Central Asia.

The Life Engineering Laboratory is recruiting a wide range of students who are willing to engage in research on interdisciplinary technologies with flexible ideas regardless of their specialty. The research theme will be determined through discussions with each student so that it will lead to research and development of advanced technology according to their interests and skills. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us. See the research page for details of the research. Click here for contact information.

The Life Engineering Laboratory has undergraduate students of College of Engineering Systems, and graduate students of the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering and Ph.D. Program in Humanics, both in University of Tsukuba. We accept talented/enthusiastic master's and doctoral students from other universities as well as the University of Tsukuba if they pass the graduate entrance exam. Adult students are also accepted.

Every year in April or/and May, Open Campus is held, so please join us there.

At present, there are many issues in the world that cannot be solved with a single expertise, such as the environment, energy, and the aging of the population. Some of the students assigned to the laboratories remain at universities and research institutes to pursue their studies, but many end up in society and work for companies. In this laboratory, the next-generation information engineering technology that realizes new services unprecedented while acquiring technologies that can design, develop and evaluate systems from the information, electrical and mechanical aspects of living organisms and the environment Or to work on medical engineering techniques. Our laboratory emphasizes applied research in collaboration with medical and other specialists because it is increasingly important to create new services that go beyond basic technologies that are tied to conventional values. Through research and development, I hope that students will develop skills and ideas that can be used even if they become members of society, and develop them into human resources who can lead society.

In the near future, much of what experts have done with experience, such as translation, will likely be replaced by artificial intelligence. This laboratory is capable of producing students with the skills and experience to create new value (services) by selecting and integrating information and technology across all fields where artificial intelligence is weak. I want to be.
